B18 - Home Support Services

Home support services help a person remain in their own home as they age.

Some of the services provided include: help with showering, dressing, house cleaning, washing clothes or meal preparation and essential shopping. A support worker helps with tasks in the home for a number of hours every week.

The Ministry of Health funds some home support services. You can also make your own arrangements to pay for home support services.

Could this option limit my future choices?

No, but if you move and your needs remain the same, you will have to check whether your home support service provider can work in your new area or could help you find an appropriate service.
